Project

  • Prepare a consolidated document (topic will be disclosed before C.U. examination) incorporating all the topics mentioned in syllabus on any physical science resource that you are curious to learn. The document should be pedagogic and the presentation should reflect your command on the subject matter. Intuitive and creative addition of LaTeX skills, that enriches the document qualitatively, quantitatively and aesthetically, is encouraged and will yield into more marks.

  • PHS-A SEC-B-PR : List of some sample Projects (Prescribed in C.U. Syllabus).
    1. Writing articles / research papers / reports.
    2. Writing mathematical derivation.
    3. Writing Resume.
    4. Writing any documentation of a practical done in laboratory with results, tables, graphs.
    5. Writing graphical analysis taking graphs plotted in gnuplot.

Topics

  • Introduction to LaTeX:
    • The difference between WYSIWYG and WYSIWYM. Preparing a basic LaTeX file. Compiling LaTeX file.
  • Document classes:
    • Different type of document classes, e.g., article, report, book etc.
  • Page Layout::
    • Titles, Abstract, Chapters, Sections, subsections, paragraph, verbatim, References, Equation references, citation.
  • List structures::
    • Itemize, enumerate, description etc.
  • Representation of mathematical equations::
    • Inline math, Equations, Fractions, Matrices, trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential functions, line-surface-volume integrals with and without limits, closed line integral, surface integrals, Scaling of Parentheses, brackets etc.
  • Customization of fonts::
    • Bold fonts, emphasise, mathbf, mathcal etc. Changing sizes Large, Larger, Huge, tiny etc.
  • Writing Tables::
    • Creating tables with different alignments, placement of horizontal, vertical lines.
  • Figures::
    • Changing and placing the figures, alignments
